Tourist Facilities 
Karpathos airport is located south of the island. There are daily flights from Athens - Karpathos, Rhodes - Karpathos - Rhodes (2-3 times per day), Rhodes - Kasos - Karpathos (3 times per week) and Sitia - Kasos - Karpathos - Sitia twice a week. (Please not that schedule might change.) With abroad, there are frequent charter flights directly to Karpathos. Please check with your local travel agent.

By boat there are connections directly with Piraeus, Crete and Rhodes two to four times a week. With the rest of Dodecanese and all the islands of the Aegean sea via Rhodes and Crete. Regionally, there are daily boats that link Karpathos with Kasos, Diafani and Pigadia. Daily buses depart from Pigadia to the rest of the island. Check the schedule which you will find at the main bus station in Pigadia. 
There are hotels with approximately 5000 beds ranging from luxury to basic rooms, furnished apartments, summer homes for rent, restaurants and taverns, travel agencies, car, motorcycle and bicycle rentals, hospital, drugstores, supermarkets and other facilities.

Excursion by Boat 

In the summer there are daily cruises from Pigadia to Diafani - Olympos. When you arrive in Diafani, there are buses to take you up to the village of Olympos. Boats are available to take you to Apella, Kira Panagia, Ahata, and Agios Nicholas. Also you will find boats scheduled for Saria. Boats leave 7:30am - 9:30am each morning and arrive back to Pigadia in the evening between 5:00pm - 6:30pm.
